Using Your Panning Head For Tripod Pictures

Whether you're a photographer, videographer or an action photographer, knowing how to setup your panning head for tripod shots will make you that much more effective.panning head for tripod It is an important part of shooting video and film. There are some tips and tricks that can make panning the head for a tripod shot easier, especially for those who are just starting out. For those of you that aren't sure how to do this properly, here's some information to help you out.

First of all, you have to think of the scene you are shooting in and focus on that. There's no point in panning the head for a shot if you're not in the scene, focused and unable to move your camera any further towards the subject you want to shoot. You will find it's hard sometimes to tell exactly where your tripod is because you can't see it but once you are in the shot, you will feel more at ease that you can pan the tripod head to the right for the perfect shot. Of course if you're panning to the left, you're not going to be able to get that perfect shot.

Make sure the tripod you are using is stable and doesn't sway in the wind while you're panning. If you find that it's shaky while you are panning the head for a shot, switch to another tripod. The tripod shouldn't be the one holding the camera so don't use it as your prop to stand on while you take a shot. Your fingers are not going to do you much good and you might accidentally hit something that will cost you a lens.

When panning the head, you should keep in mind that this isn't about only your arm muscles, but your legs as well. They have to bend and move in certain ways in order to keep your tripod stable. Don't forget about your knees when panning. They need to stay relatively still because they are taking a picture from different angles. You want them to be slightly bent but not concave.

When you are panning the tripod, remember to not make jerky movements. You should be smooth and fluid in your movement. This will make the image come out with more realism and depth. Also try to make the back swing of your arm look as natural as possible. It should be almost similar to your arm moving forward.

Once you are done with your panning head for the night, it's time to light up the candles and enjoy the shot. Remember to be careful when you are panning head for the night because it can throw off the alignment of your photos. So don't pan too fast or too slow. Just do the best you can! Good luck and have fun!
