Attach the Snow Blower to the Quick Release Plate

Once the plate has been removed, you need to look at the two wires that are attached to the plate. They are white and black and whilst looking at these you need to identify which wire goes to which pole on the machine.

If you have a modern snow blower with a two speed reducer then you will likely not need to use a soldering iron, but if you have a older model with a single speed reducer then you will need to. If you can see these wires as being to the left of the pictures on the quick release plate then simply use a wire cutter to cut them so that they match up with the wires on the quick release plate.

Once all the wires are cut back to the correct length, you need to connect the wires back to the quick release plate. To do this, you should remove the nuts that bolt the machine together. Then remove the screws which secure the machine together. At this point you can either reconnect the quick release plate to the machine or you can take the machine apart again. If you are planning to reassemble the snow blower then it is probably easiest to separate the parts from each other rather than reassemble the entire machine. In any case it is best to read the instructions that come with your snow blower before you start removing any parts.

Once you have successfully completed this step, you need to attach the snow blower to the quick release plate. To do this you need to remove the front panel of the machine. If you are not comfortable removing the machine you can leave it in the frame of your garage. The screws, which are secured by nuts on the front should now come out.
